Windows 8 comes with a start screen where users can add anything they want in the form of a tile, even websites.

If one of your site's users adds your blog to his start screen, you can control how that tile looks via the site's header.

The Custom Windows Pinned Tiles plugin adds all the necessary meta data in the source code for this customization to take place.

A settings page in the WP backend also allows the webmaster to setup the tile's background color, the icon representing the blog and the text which appears under the icon (blog title by default).

Installation:

Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
